Challenge Based Learning Big Idea - Giving

Many of us celebrate holidays in December and January and some of those holidays involve some kind of gifts, reflections, thanks, or gift-giving.  Might we use this opportunity to engage students in the critical thinking framework Challenge Based Learning around the Big Idea of “Giving”?

Using Freeform to brainstorm around major themes that might connect with the Big Idea of “Giving” - teams list subcategories then rotate to list additional connected words.

My Idea:

Using the Big idea Giving, students collaborate on a Freeform board to brainstorm ideas that will lead to a selection of an Essential Question. They focus on universal concepts rather than specific things or objects in order to determine the question.

Once the question has been determined, the next step is to write their Challenge and continue with the Challenge Based Learning process.
